Partner Profile

Mark Gough

Initially, Mark qualified as a Barrister, being called to the Bar of England and Wales in November 1997. Subsequent to that, he cross qualified and became a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2001. Since qualification Mark has worked in a number of firms in and around the South Manchester Area specialising in a number of different areas, namely conveyancing, personal injury, employment law and company law.

Whilst working in Manchester Mark met Craig Jones and after working together for a year, it became apparent that they had a very similar ethos in respect of the way a firm should be run, particularly with regards to client care. They both feel that it is important to ensure that all clients receive the best possible advice no matter what their issues. With regards to personal injury claims they feel that clients deserve the best possible award ensuring that they receive as much compensation, including as full a restitution as possible in respect of out of pocket expenses.

It is important to both Mark and Craig that cases are dealt with swiftly ensuring that there is as little disturbance to clients as possible. They believe that it is imperative that all clients are kept up to date with the progress of their matters and if any issues arise, that they are notified early on of those issues so that resolution can be achieved with little delay. This is most important when dealing with conveyancing matters as these are particularly trying and stressful occasions for all clients. The most important consideration is that the person dealing with a case is contactable and that all calls are returned as soon as the fee earner becomes available.

Mark's main areas of specialism include Personal Injury law of any type, Conveyancing and Employment law.  Therefore he is able to provide detailed information and advice on the best way to proceed. He has dealt with purchases, sales and remortgages whether the property is freehold or leasehold, registered or unregistered. Mark has dealt with a wide variety of personal injury claims including, but not limited to accidents at work, trip and slip claims,, road traffic accident claims, medical negligence, industrial deafness, industrial disease and claims where people are injured as a result of a criminal act. As such Mark has a wide variety of experience and knowledge upon which we are able to rely to ensure that our clients receive an outstanding service.

Mark is a keen motorcyclist and has owned a motorcycle since about 2001/2002. During that time, he has been involved in one accident. His experience as a motorcyclist places him in better position to understand manoeuvres that were being carried out when the accident took place, but more importantly, why as a motorcyclist, you would be undertaking a particular manoeuvre, or why you would not be able to take the same action as a car driver. This coupled with his experience of being involved in a motorcycle accident allows him an insight into the difficulties faced by motorcyclists and he is able empathise with them when they are unable to return to motorcycling straight away.

In addition to motorcycling Mark is a keen skier, runs a Beaver Scout Colony, enjoys walking, camping, cycling, going to the theatre and reading.
